
Phi Kappa Theta Foundation Welcomes Four New Board Members
The Phi Kappa Theta Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of four new members: Anthony Cantanzaro, Henry Lafont, Jr., Luther Luera, and Nicholas Pelletier.
These brothers will join the Foundation’s mission to support the next generation of servant leaders.
Anthony Catanzaro is an initiate of the Pennsylvania Kappa Epsilon Chapter at La Salle University. He graduated from La Salle in 1979 with a B.S. in Accounting & Finance and also holds an MBA from St. Joseph’s University.
Catanzaro had a 40-year career at Johnson & Johnson. During his career, he worked in supply chain, procurement, and talent management before retiring from the company in 2019. Currently, he is an adjunct instructor within the business program at Penn State University, Abington College Campus
Henry J Lafont, Jr. was initiated into the Louisiana Nu Omega Chapter at Nicholls State University in 1975. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Nicholls State with a B.A. in History in 1976. Lafont went on to receive his Juris Doctor from LSU Law in 1979.
Lafont is a practicing attorney in Louisiana and member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and a past president of the Lafourche Parish Bar Association.
He has taught courses in criminal justice, legal assistance and government as an adjunct, assistant, and associate professor at Nicholls State University and Fletcher Technical Community College. Lafont is active in his community, having been involved and held multiple volunteer leadership positions in the Golden Meadow Lions Club, the Knights of Columbus, the South Lafourche Chamber of Commerce, and the Nicholls State University Alumni Association, among many others.
Luther Luera was initiated into the Texas Kappa Tau Chapter at Texas A&I University in 1972. He received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering in 1975. Prior to attending college, Luera served in the U.S. Army from 1968-1971, including a tour in Vietnam.
Luera worked at AT&T for 34 years in various roles designing and/or deploying new telecommunications technologies. He oversaw multiple projects including the deployment of the AT&T U-verse streaming network in Texas, Arkansas, and Florida. He obtained his Texas Professional Engineering License in 1993.
In retirement, Luera remains actively involved in the PKT Alamo Alumni Association and is a Lifetime Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 76 in San Antonio, Texas.
Nicholas Pelletier was a refounding member of the award-winning Massachusetts Lambda chapter at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He was initiated into the chapter in 2007 and graduated from WPI in 2009 with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering. He also holds a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering and an MBA from WPI.
After beginning his career in biomedical engineering, Pelletier transitioned into a career in real estate and property investment. He founded Pelletier Properties in 2011 and leads a team of realtors in New England. Pelletier was named to the Worcester Business Journal’s 40 Under Forty list in 2018 and was recently named Massachusetts Realtor of the Year by the National Association of Realtors.
He also serves on the board of St. Bernard’s High School in Fitchburg, MA and the Rise Above Foundation, a Massachusetts nonprofit that provides enrichment activities to foster children.
